No, I didn't recommend
I regret to say I agree with the other reviewers about the poor and embarrassing quality of the recent edition of this table. The suggestion that, "Due to the amount of information that is presented in this table it is very difficult to make the font a large size and continue to include all of the information" has no foundation. Frankly, whoever wrote that didn't know what they were talking about. The classic version of your table which was printed since at least the 60's was good quality, had better graphics (and this was the 60's---no fancy online graphics packages in those days!), always had the same amount of information, updated as appropriate, and was (and still is) easy to read. The first time I saw the "new" version of the table I was staggered by how amateurish it looked, and astonished that it got past quality controls. And I didn't buy it. I'll see if I can find a 2018 version of your table and let you know how it looks. Actually you can do it yourself---compare the 2018 version with one of the pre-update versions and let us know how they compare. It's no great drama---mistakes were made, and can be rectified. Your table was great once, and there's no reason why it can't rise to that height again.

I am so disappointed in the quality of your new generation of this classic periodic table. I used to order them by the hundreds to give to my students, but now I will have to hold on to those I have left like grim death. No way will I order the newly formatted tables with their smaller fonts and much unused space. I have versions of these tables dating back over 50 years, and decade after decade they maintained the same appearance. Who made the decision that suddenly there was so much information you could not use the same format anymore? BS! Just look at how much unused space is in each box now. Admit you screwed up, dump what you have, and bring back the old format. It worked for over half a century. Why change it? And I just realized something: I'm calling foul on your claim to look into this matter in the next printing. This change appeared before the last group of new element names was confirmed, and your latest tables have these new names! So you had another printing but saw no need to return to the old format. What a shame you consciously ruined a fine product. (Also, I did purchase some of your larger tables some years back, the three-hole punched ones that fold out, and the atomic weight for calcium was incorrect. Apparently you have no interest in selling quality periodic tables anymore.)

We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the Ward’s Comprehensive Periodic Table purchased. We strive to meet all of our customers’ needs and are already working to revise this product. A new version of the Comprehensive Periodic Table was created in August 2018 and has been sent to be used by our printer. This version has a larger font size that is used for the elemental data, as well as a slightly different layout, allowing the table to take up more of the space on the page. We hope that this updated version better suits our customers’ needs going forward. Please contact us to preview a copy of this file if you would like to view before you purchase.

Yes, I recommend
This is the best periodic table I have had the pleasure of uding. With so much information but presented in such an inviting way, I would sometimes get distracted from my homework just exploring the periodic table. Highly recommend this.

I have ordered the same periodic tables for my students for the past 20 years. This years are much lighter and much more difficult to read. They are smaller than the ones that folded out the past two years and no more three holes on the side for their notebooks. Very disappointed! Just glad I had extras from last year. I will reconsider another vender in the future.

Thank you for your review. We have taken yours and other reviews into consideration and are working with our supplier for the next printing round to try to make the font larger and easier to read. Due to the amount of information that is presented in this table it is very difficult to make the font a large size and continue to include all of the information. One suggestion is to consider the Ward’s® Intermediate or Basic tables, which does contain less information. Please note that those recommended table for contain basic information and is in a slightly bigger font.

We use this product for our custom chemistry lab manuals. They're a great balance of price and quality. They provide an easy reference for students when completing their lab assignments.

I would agree with the last reviewer 100% it is much harder for the students and teachers to read too tiny a font.

The writing on these periodic tables is smaller and lighter than the classic VWR versions they used to sell. Otherwise very similar, but these are much harder to read.

I apologize that the print quality for our Periodic Tables is not as clear as it has been in the past. We recently switched suppliers and this is something that I will discuss with them in our next meeting. Thank you for your feedback.

Ward's comprehensive periodic table provides students with detailed and up-to-date information. In addition to elemental data, side one includes a table of radioisotopes with mass number, half-life, and decay particles. Side two includes a table of subatomic particles. These three-color charts come in a variety of sizes to meet all your teaching needs. Information updated in December 2016.

The student form is also printed on both sides and contains symbols, column markers, row numbers, and chart outlines. The laminated versions are faced in vinyl on both sides, so writing on the tables with a wet-erase pen or grease pencil is a snap.
