Simple, Student-Directed Science Activity
- Highlights key concepts without expensive reagents
- Created and tested by teachers
- Includes an experiment guide and quiz
Learn to characterize bacteria as positive or negative through Gram staining. The differences in bacterial cell morphology will result in staining of bacteria as pink (negative) or blue (positive). Based on this result, the correct antibiotics can be prescribed by a physician to fight human bacterial infections. A basic microscope with 100X magnification is required to view complete bacterial morphology. Includes materials for six experiments. All experiments are created and classroom tested by teachers and science education experts. Each kit includes an experiment guide with background information, procedures, safety recommendations, and an evaluation quiz.
